INTRODUCTION

This Privacy Policy explains how Vector Pacifico (“we,” “us,” “our”) collects, uses, and protects information about visitors to vectorpacifico.com and subscribers to our products: Corriente, Vista, Miranda, and Araña.

Vector Pacifico is an Ecuador-based intelligence firm. We aim to handle personal data minimally, transparently, and only to the extent necessary to deliver our services and maintain our subscriber relationships.

If you have questions about anything below, write to consult@vectorpacifico.com.

We collect only what we need to operate our products and serve our subscribers.

  • Subscriber identity. Email address, name, organization (if provided), and language preference (English, Spanish, Portuguese), collected when you subscribe to Corriente or create a Vista account.
  • Payment information. Billing details are processed by our payment provider, Stripe, and stored on Stripe's infrastructure. Vector Pacifico does not store full credit-card numbers, security codes, or bank account credentials on our own systems.
  • Product usage. Pages viewed, features used, brief-section interactions, and authentication events on the Vista dashboard. This is used to operate the product, improve it, and detect abuse.
  • Communications. Email messages you send us (and our replies), and any notes we make about subscriber requests, support issues, or feedback.
  • Analytics. Aggregated, mostly-anonymized site usage data collected by Google Analytics (see Cookies & Analytics below).

We do not collect government identification numbers, biometric data, geolocation beyond country/region, or sensitive categories of data (health, religion, political affiliation, etc.) as part of normal operations.

We use the information we collect to:

  • Deliver the daily Corriente intelligence brief by email at the language and frequency you've selected
  • Authenticate your access to Vista and serve you the appropriate subscription tier
  • Process subscription payments, renewals, and refunds
  • Reply to your messages, support requests, and feedback
  • Send transactional notices (e.g., billing receipts, password resets, service-status alerts)
  • Detect abuse, fraud, scraping, or unauthorized access to subscriber-only material
  • Improve the quality, formatting, and reliability of our products
  • Comply with applicable legal obligations

We do not sell your data. We do not rent, broker, or syndicate subscriber lists, payment information, or usage profiles to third parties for their independent use.

To operate the products, we use a small set of well-known service providers, each of which only sees the minimum data they need to do their job. As of the effective date of this policy:

  • Stripe — payment processing, subscription billing, refund handling.
  • SendGrid — transactional email delivery (the daily brief, receipts, system notices).
  • Vercel — hosting for the Vista dashboard and the public site.
  • Amazon Web Services (AWS) — hosting for the brief-generation pipeline and subscriber database.
  • Google Cloud Platform — analytical workloads, content hosting in select regions.
  • Google Analytics — site usage analytics (configurable, see Cookies & Analytics below).

These providers are bound by their own privacy commitments and process data on our behalf as data processors. We may add or replace providers as our infrastructure evolves and will keep this list reasonably current.

The site uses a small number of cookies and similar technologies for essential functions and analytics:

  • Essential. Authentication tokens, session identifiers, and preference cookies (theme, language) used to deliver the product. These cannot be disabled while still using the site as intended.
  • Analytics. Google Analytics (gtag.js) for aggregated visit, page-view, and event data. We do not enable Google Analytics advertising features, demographic profiles, or cross-site tracking.

You can disable analytics in your browser using standard browser settings, browser extensions (uBlock Origin, Privacy Badger, Ghostery, etc.), or by enabling Do Not Track / Global Privacy Control. We honor these signals where supported.

We retain personal information only for as long as we need it to operate the products, comply with our obligations, and protect our rights.

  • Active subscriptions. Identity, payment, and usage data are retained for the life of the subscription.
  • Cancelled subscriptions. Identity and billing-record data are retained for up to 7 years after cancellation, primarily to comply with tax, accounting, and dispute-resolution obligations.
  • Support communications. Email and message records are retained for up to 5 years after the last interaction.
  • Aggregated analytics. Retained indefinitely once anonymized; not tied to individual identifiers.

If you'd like data deleted earlier, see Your Rights below.

Subject to applicable law, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate or outdated information
  • Delete your information, subject to legal retention obligations
  • Export your information in a portable format
  • Withdraw consent for processing where we rely on consent
  • Object to processing on legitimate-interest grounds
  • Lodge a complaint with a data-protection authority

To exercise any of these rights, email consult@vectorpacifico.com from the address associated with your subscription. We will respond within 30 days.

Vector Pacifico is based in Ecuador. Our service providers (Stripe, SendGrid, Vercel, AWS, Google Cloud) operate globally and may process data in the United States, the European Union, and other jurisdictions. By using our products, you understand and accept that your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own.

Where required, we rely on standard data-transfer mechanisms (e.g., Standard Contractual Clauses, the Data Privacy Framework where applicable) implemented by our service providers.

We apply commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. These align with our published Information Security Policy (ISO/IEC 27001:2022).

No system is perfectly secure. If we become aware of a security incident affecting your personal information, we will notify you and any required authorities consistent with applicable law.

Vector Pacifico's products are intended for adult professional use (intelligence analysts, investors, defense and policy professionals, institutional buyers). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe we have, write to consult@vectorpacifico.com and we will delete it.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as our products, providers, or applicable law evolve. The “Last Updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Material changes — for example, a new category of data collected or a new service provider with a substantively different role — will be communicated to active subscribers by email at least 14 days before they take effect.

Continued use of our products after a change becomes effective constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
